Who is Hamoudi bin Baba? And what is $HAMOUDI?

The story

Hamoudi is 18, and Baba gave him the card. On the departures board over Baba's jet, it reads:

“18. Baba's card. One rule: behave. He heard the first two.”

So he is on a world tour, city after city, shopping on Baba's card. His arrival card at passport control says it plainly. Purpose of visit: “Shopping. Baba pays.” Length of stay: “Until the card declines.”

The tour began with flight BB001, Riyadh to Dubai. Flight BB002 goes from Dubai to London, and it is the flight of the $HAMOUDI contract address drop. After London, the audience picks the next city by vote, one city at a time. The rest of the route stays a mystery: ???

Hamoudi's story is written alongside its community. The community votes where the jet lands next, city after city, and the crew list asks it to name his cousin.

The cousin, head of security

His cousin flies with him as head of security. He is 19, looks 15, and nobody knows his name. The site's crew list has a “Name him” button that goes to @hamoudibinbaba on X.

Hamoudi, passenger 1A

Never impressed. The tag stays on. The hair does not move. He is bored, never mean, and never makes fun of a city's people. In his own words:

• “Baba pays.”
• “The tag stays.”
• “Don't touch. Is new.”
• “My cousin is my security. Pray for me.”
• “Wallah the hair does not move.”
• “Stop 2. You know what happens.”

When the card declines

If Baba cuts the card, the site turns to Card Declined mode: a red airport alert reads “BABA CUT THE CARD.” and Hamoudi says “I am taking the bus. Pray for me.”

Bin Baba Air

Bin Baba Air is Baba's private airline, and it is the whole of hamoudibinbaba.com. The site is one passenger's day at the airport:

• Departures boardThe HAMOUDI board hangs over Baba's jet on split-flap tiles. Poke Hamoudi and his line goes up on it; the gate card under it is where the real CA drops.
• Passport controlHamoudi's passport (issued by Baba, age 18, occupation: keeping the tag on), his arrival card and the crew badges.
• Safety demonstration“Please watch. He won't.” Hamoudi demonstrates six safety steps in the aisle; his cousin does every one half a beat late.
• In-flight entertainmentSeat 1A, four games on the seatback screen: Card Runner, Catch the Watch, Ignore Baba and Cousin Stack.
• Duty FreeCharged to Baba's card. Dress Hamoudi in the shop mirror; the receipt ends “TOTAL: BABA PAYS”.
• Route map“You pick the next city.” The world tour as the roadmap: the stops landed, the next flight and a boarding pass for each.
